2019 Flip Flop Regatta
Welcome to the 2019 Flip Flop Regatta Information page.

Join one of the largest New England regattas of the year - a pursuit race from Broad Sound, around the Brewsters, and back to the finish in Boston Harbor. After racing, the Mount Gay Tent Party will be in full swing from 6:30 - 10:30 PM on Pier 4 with live music, drinks, food and awards. Free overnight dockage for entries and reservations received before July 15, 2019.

Courageous Sailing is the host of the Flip Flop Regatta, and all proceeds support Courageous Sailing’s youth programs and further our mission to transform children’s lives through sailing programs that inspire learning, personal growth, and leadership.

Please note that this regatta will use ORR-ez handicap ratings for all boats.  Boats without an ORR-ez certificate, the race committee shall assign a rating based upon that of similar vessels and a recent PHRF certificate if available

Becoming a Skipper Sponsor is a great way to help Courageous by potentially doubling your contribution! If your employer has a matching gift program for qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, all you have to do is submit the receipt from your Sponsorship along with the completed sponsorship form (download from the information page) to your company. Your matched Skipper Sponsor donation will have a huge impact funding Courageous programs that transform children’s lives through sailing programs that inspire learning, personal growth and leadership.  Moreover, an anonymous donor will be matching dollar-for-dollar any donation of $1000 or more.

For race entries received on or before July 29, 2019, free dockage for Friday and Sat. evenings at Courageous Sailing Center on Pier 4 will be available. From July 16th on, dockage is available for $50/night, and on a reservation basis only. Reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis during the boat registration process. Shore power is not available. Portable facilities will be available on the premises. Skippers rafted next to another vessel are responsible for ensuring they have adequate fender support for docking/rafting. The race committee reserves the right to place, and move docked boats as necessary, and at their discretion.  Any boat wishing to dock at the Courageous Sailing Center should make a reservation with their entry on Regattaman, and complete the docking waiver form and provide a copy of your certificate of insurance. Please forward to:  Dave DiLorenzo dave@courageoussailing,org. If you have and questions, please call 617.242.3821.

Thanks for joining us, and we look forward to seeing you on the race course and under the tent!

Registration is now open.  Please note that boats with alphanumeric sail numbers should update their boat registration to note that full sail number.  Also, boats without sail numbers will be provided with bow numbers at the skippers meeting.
