Welcome to the 2024 RBC - Paper Cup Challenge Information page.

For many years the Paper Cup Challenge was active in Penobscot Bay.  This cruising class (jib and main only)/pursuit start race is returning for its second year after a several year break.  The name accurately describes the awards for this race series comprised of two races.  Each racer will receive a ‘paper cup’ indicating their event participation and place.  Both races are family friendly pursuit start races, the first being from the start line outside of Rockport Harbor and racing a course to the first finish line at Pulpit Harbor on North Haven.   A lunchtime break will occur in Pulpit Harbor where racers can raft up for lunch.  The second race, held in the afternoon, will race from Pulpit Harbor to Camden.  Following the race, a catered dinner (tickets to be purchased on Regattaman) and awards ceremony will be hosted by the Rockport Boat Club in Rockport Harbor.  Note, all competing boats must have a current PHRF rating available through GMORA/PHRF NE.  All race and dinner registration information, SI, and NOR documents will be available through Regattaman.com.
