Join us for the June Cup - "Women at the Helm" twilight series! 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of this series! The series was started in 2003 by the Redondo Beach Yacht Club in memory of June Cuthbertson, an RBYC Commodore who was a Columbia Challenger racer, mentor, Director, and race chair. This is a great series for both entry level as well as experienced women. Same format as regular regattas, except that the woman skipper must alone hold the helm on most of all legs of the course, during the start and finish, all tacks, gybes, mark roundings, and represent the boat in any protest. We will have three classes: Class A, PHRF Buoy Rating, <= 137, Class B, PHRF Buoy Rating, => 138, and Class C, Non-Spinnaker/Mariner. Hope to see you all there!

June Cup - Women at the Helm Skippers Meeting & After Party
Hi Skippers,
Thank you for registering for the June Cup – Women at the Helm! Although this is PRYC’s first year hosting, this is the 20th Anniversary for this event! I see a couple of you registered as either a man or a combination (man and woman)….this event requires a woman skipper so please let me know if you need help correcting. We will open the Club up at 4:00 each Tuesday in case anyone wants to stop by to ask questions or pick up documents. We will also open the Club back up at 7:00 following each race for some refreshments and an awards ceremony (the gate code for June 6 will be 0606). The Perpetual Trophy for the series will be awarded at a ceremony in the fall…more details to follow. In addition, we will be presenting a Spirit Award at the same ceremony for the skipper and crew who exhibited the most spirit during the series!
