Welcome to the 2023 EYC Summer Pursuit Race #1 Information page.

The course selected was #4 heading northeasterly up Eagle Island Channel. We had a clean start in 8 to 10 knots of breeze. Right after the last boat started the wind started to diminish. Lead boats were in good wind and made it about halfway around the course before they lost the wind. It was so light some boats were swept off course and down the Salem channel by the current. The Race Committee decided the fleet was punished enough and fired off 3 cannon shots that abandoned the race.

NEW THIS YEAR:

The 3 Friday night EYC Pursuit Races will constitute a series. Trophies will be awarded for cumulative performance at the post-race social after the August race.

In an effort to add some variety to the courses run, we have added 2 new ones to the previous 3 courses raced. Check out the new courses # 4 and #6.
